Marta Cabané (Barcelona, 1961) grew up surrounded by the rich design culture and artistic splendor of her hometown. Her father, a passionate amateur filmmaker and photographer in the 1970s, ignited her love for the camera—a spark that would eventually guide her toward a life in photography.

With formal training in Interior Design from Philadelphia University (2010) and the Panamericana Institute of São Paulo (2014), Marta’s work is deeply shaped by the interplay between art and design. This fusion has been a defining thread throughout her creative journey.

Her professional path in conceptual photography began in Brazil in 2012, nurtured by workshops at the Tomie Ohtake Institute and the Panamericana Institute.

In 2017, Marta’s work flourished in Miami, where she participated in multiple exhibitions and won first prize at the Street Photography Festival for her series The Grove. This acclaimed project was later showcased during Art Basel at the Miami History Museum (2019).

Recognition continued in 2021 when she received the Openwalls Award from the British Journal of Photography in Arles, France for her evocative photograph Silent.

Today, Marta lives and works in Mérida, Yucatán, developing projects that capture the quiet beauty and layered stories of the world around her.
